Bridges of Hope COVID-19 Response Plan

Updated: November 13, 2020

A message to our community on Bridges of Hope services in light of COVID-19:

Bridges of Hope: Bridges of Hope main offices are now closed. Our staff will still be available via telephone Monday-Thursday from 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Common Goods Stores in Baxter and Crosslake: Both Common Goods stores are open. Please see the Common Goods page for more details on hours. Please continue visiting our web pages and social media for more information and updates.

Employees must wear a mask and shoppers will be required to wear a mask, per Governor Walz. Shoppers & staff will maintain social distancing of six feet apart in the store. Limited capacity occupancy will be monitored based on location. At our counters, plexiglass barriers/sneeze guards have been put in place. Transactions will be as contactless as humanly possible.

Operation Sandwich: At this time, Operation Sandwich is on it’s normal school year hiatus. If your family is in need of food, contact your local school district to see how they are delivering food during distance learning.

If you have no children in your home OR need more or different types of food than the districts provide, anyone is welcome to go to Sharing Bread Soup Kitchen on Wednesdays from 5:30-6:00 p.m. to receive free groceries, no questions asked. Bridges of Hope will also be there handing out laundry soap.

Additionally, on Saturdays at the Soup Kitchen from 12-12:30 p.m. you can get two to-go meals per person. Sharing Bread Soup Kitchen is located at 923 Oak Street in Brainerd.

Operation Sandwich and Bridges of Hope are working together to provide families with school age students “snack packs” over the holiday breaks when school meals are not available. If you would like to help that cause, please make a donation and mark it for “Operation Sandwich” on the memo line.
