Who are the homeless?
In 2023, 173 individuals in Crow Wing County were without a place to call home. This number is based on documented reports from the county, but it is suspected to be a much larger number than this.
Annually, approximately 200 individuals in Crow Wing County are without a place to call home and 10.8% of our community lives in poverty that puts them at risk of homelessness.
Some factors that may contribute to homelessness include:
• Mental Health Issues
• Addiction (Alcohol, Drugs, Gambling, Smoking)
• Unemployment
• History of crime/violence
• Lack of informal family support and/or has “burned bridges”
• Poverty
