Retail Associate- Baxter

The Retail Associate that we are looking for has great customer service skills, greets customers, rings up their purchases, ensures that they have found what they are looking for, and promotes sale items and other relevant products to round out their sale. Additionally they will process donations and prep items for the sales floor.

Must be able to work evenings, weekends, stand for long periods of time, lift up to 50lbs.

 

Retail and Point of Sale experience preferred.

28+ hours/week starting at $15.00

Hours of Operation:
8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. – scheduled hours will vary
Summers 7 days a week, Fall-Spring Monday-Saturday

Weekly day range:

• Monday to Friday

• Weekends as needed

$16.00 to $18.00 an hour based on experience.
$10.50 an hour for sleep time.

• Overnight shifts (Only)

  • 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. (Awake shift)

  • 7:00 p.m.-8:00 a.m. (Sleep Shift; sleep from 11:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.)

  • 7:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. (Awake)

  • 3:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. (Awake)

• Weekdays, Weekends and Holidays (Required)

• SEASONAL WORK ONLY: Estimate dates; September 15 thru May 15

 

Essential Job Duties

• Conduct initial screening & intake process for guests.

• Ensure the safety and security of guests, volunteers, visitors, and staff.

• Conduct room and personal property inspections at intake and during shift.

• Provide orientation for new guests.

• Understand and effectively respond to guest needs.

• Participate in regular supervision with Shelter Coordinator by providing regular updates.

• Maintain guest files, logs, and manage data in accordance with program requirements.

• Work collaboratively with volunteers, contractors, and donors.

• Assists guests with needs while in the shelter.

• Assist with nightly cleaning duties of the facility, laundry duties, sweeping, mopping, bathrooms, and upkeep on the grounds around the shelter.

• Able to provide empathy while working with the homeless.
