Project Development Associate

The purpose of this position is to develop and coordinate the Self-Healing Communities Project (“SHCP”) in Crow Wing County, beginning in two key communities. The Project Coordinator will build trust-filled relationships between and among individuals living in the identified communities, will draw on and develop community assets, and will work closely with the Executive Director and a community advisory team to ensure delivery of a high-quality project that strengthens families and engages the entire community. In addition, the Project Coordinator will assist in developing assets for the overall strength of the organization.

Specific Responsibilities and Expectations:

SHCP Public Relations & Community Education

  • Educate broader public on Self-Healing Communities model in individual, small-group, and large-group settings; function as local “expert” on Self-Healing Communities model.

  • Assist with media/public relations/press and other methods of community education.

  • Facilitate county-wide ACEs education.

  • Serve as point-of-contact in Crow Wing County for related efforts, to decrease “silos” of work and increase collaboration.

  • Create, strengthen, and leverage strategic community relationships to meet project goals as identified by target communities; promote systems change to better serve target population.


SHCP Target Communities Direct & Indirect Service

  • Develop trust and rapport in target neighborhoods and via individual, small-group, and large-group settings.

  • Facilitate neighborhood-wide ACEs education.

  • Lead neighborhood discussions to identify top priorities, existing strengths, and to promote relationship-building.

  • Connect outside assets to target neighborhoods to meet identified priorities.

  • Cross-connect individuals from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds to meet project goals, improve health outcomes, and increase resiliency in children & adults.


Program & Projects Development

  • Develop additional financial and in-kind resources for Self-Healing Communities Project through grant writing & fund development

  • Develop additional financial and in-kind resources for other Bridges of Hope projects & programs through grant

  • Assist Executive Director and other staff with planning and program revival/redevelopment for Mental Health referrals program

  • Assist Executive Director and other staff with ongoing project planning for local collaborative partners like Essentia Health etc. to facilitate referral pilot project with focus to incorporate ACEs into model.

Grant Writing and Fund Development

  • Responsible for researching grant opportunities at appropriate places

  • Develop effective grant proposals and grant reports based on the organizational requirements

  • Incorporate accurate and pertinent information in the proposal or application

  • Interface and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization

  • Assist various department staff in writing periodic reports to comply with grant requirements

  • Maintain a professional and cordial relation with the grant coordinator and fund providers to ensure and check if the information provided meets the requirements

  • Submit proposals within deadlines to grant coordinators or concerned people for approvals


Community Outreach

  • Communicate and collaborate with outside agencies to build strong, trust-filled working relationships.

  • Generate content and pictures for various social media feeds, website and newsletter to enhance various platforms to promote the mission and vision of Bridges of Hope.

  • Lead neighborhood discussions to identify top priorities, existing strengths, and to promote relationship-building.


Education & Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree plus two to three years of experience related to new program development, community health education or community organizing is required. Preferred candidates will possess a strong knowledge of Adverse Childhood Experiences study and data.

Sales Clerk: Common Goods

The sales clerk greets customers, rings up their purchases, ensures that they have found what they are looking for, and promotes sale items and other relevant products to round out their sale.

  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.

  • Always maintains a professional but friendly demeanor.

  • Can work a cash register.

  • Works well with others.

  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills.

  • Possesses ability to think creatively to devise new ways to promote and market items.

  • Demonstrates broad knowledge of company products and layout of the retail space.

  • Is comfortable handling and counting money.

  • Possesses ability to persuade customers to add onto their purchase.

  • Remains patient and polite, even with angry or upset customers.

  • Manages time efficiently.

  • Pays close attention to detail.

  • Must be able to work evenings (until 6:30), weekends, stand for long periods of time (6 hours), and lift up to 30 lbs. Retail and Point of Sale experience preferred.
