Bridges of Hope in collaboration with Salem West (Deerwood) operates a textile recycling program in the Brainerd Lakes Area. Through Common Goods thrift stores and Salem West’s Mustard Seed thrift store, we collect textiles in unsellable condition, collectively recycling and diverting 400,000+ pounds of textile waste from local landfills annually. Recyclable textiles are sold to create an additional revenue stream for both organizations, allowing them to serve more families and individuals each year, helping them meet immediate basic needs and build a foundation for long-term health and stability.
Textiles in unsellable condition (stained, torn, worn, etc) should be bagged separately in a WHITE plastic bag and labeled RECYCLING. Bags of recyclable textiles can be dropped off at any Common Goods location.
