Back Room Team Lead- Baxter
Common Goods in Baxter is seeking a Back Room Team Lead who is flexible, self-motivated, and has a positive attitude. The ideal candidate will oversee and direct staff and volunteers in the back room alongside the store manager and other lead, ensuring efficient and safe processing of donations while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee and direct staff and volunteers in donation processing
• Assist customers with donation drop-offs
• Follow safety procedures while receiving and stocking donations
• Provide quality customer service
• Support the sales team on the floor as necessary
• Ensure product is stocked on sales floor in timely manner
• Coordinate with the store manager on processes and procedures
• Maintain and organize systems to promote efficient handling, pricing, and merchandising
• Control the quality of items through inspection processes
• Participate in store pulls to ensure quality and consistency
• Promote the Common Goods values of having a fun and safe work place
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, stack, and be physically active and on your feet for extended periods
Qualifications:

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Effective communication and leadership skills
• Customer service experience
Job Type: 30-35 Hours, Saturdays are required.
Flexible weekday shifts, with flexibility within the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 6:30p.m.
Will accrue sick and vacation time according to our handbook
Salary: Starting $18 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate to Brainerd, MN - this is an in-person position

Common Goods Retail Associate

Job Title: Overnight Warming Shelter Attendant

Position Summary:
The Overnight Warming Shelter Attendant plays a critical role in providing a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for individuals seeking overnight refuge from extreme weather conditions. This position ensures the safety and comfort of guests, monitors shelter activities throughout the night, and upholds shelter policies in a compassionate and respectful manner.
Key Responsibilities:
• Welcome and check in guests following established intake procedures.
• Ensure all guests are informed of shelter rules and available resources.
• Monitor the facility throughout the night to maintain a calm, secure, and respectful environment.
• Address any behavioral issues or conflicts using de-escalation techniques and refer to supervisor as needed.
• Complete regular walkthroughs of the facility to ensure guest safety and cleanliness.
• Distribute snacks, hygiene supplies, blankets, and other materials as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of guests, incidents, and any shift notes.
• Clean and sanitize sleeping areas, bathrooms, and common areas before and after each shift.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies, including medical, mental health, or safety issues, and contact emergency services if necessary.
• Collaborate with other staff and volunteers, to ensure effective shelter operations.
• Uphold a trauma-informed, nonjudgmental approach to all guest interactions.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent (some college or social services experience preferred).
• Experience working with vulnerable populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, or substance use disorders.
• Ability to stay awake and alert for the entire overnight shift.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle crisis situations with professionalism.
• CPR/First Aid certification, will provide training.
• Background check clearance required.
• Basic computer skills
Compensation: Hourly rate: $17.00
