Can you believe we’re already a month into 2023? So many amazing things happened in Bridges of Hope’s 20th year, and it was all made possible by YOU, our incredible supporters. With the help of our community, we assisted more than 1400 households through our Resource Connection Services (RCS) Program and matched 179 families to sponsors for our annual Thanksgiving Basket Program.
Our overnight shelter, The Bridge on 7th, is well into its second season and has provided more than 115 different people with nearly 1800 nights of sleep this season alone. Thanks to an incredible amount of volunteer support, Operation Sandwich served a record breaking 45,166 lunches and snack kits in 2022 for children in our area who would have otherwise gone hungry. Did you shop at one of our THREE Common Goods locations in 2022? Well then you made a huge difference for our neighbors in need as the profits from all three stores allowed us to serve more than 2,500 households this year through RCS, Operation Sandwich, and at The Bridge!
We couldn’t have done it without you! Although we could write so much more about the successes of 2022, let us look forward to the year ahead. We have a lot of great things in store for 2023. First, we plan to become more active on social media and our blog (hence this post)! Additionally, we will continue to deepen our partnerships with our faith community and our local agency partners in order to serve our neighbors in need with even more intention and success.
After an incredibly successful Christmas Showcase event at all three of our stores, we have more events planned to help you get to know all three of our locations! Next up is our Sweet Treat BINGO Challenge to celebrate Valentine’s Day because we LOVE our shoppers, donors, and volunteers!
We cannot wait to share more about our work in the Brainerd Lakes Area. Happy 2023!
